im going to try and be as bold as i can, but i mean no harm or foul to anyone :) LINKIAS SHOULD BE LEFT IN THE OCEAN mostly due to the fact that we really dont know what they eat. if youve ever noticed them in stores, more often than not they will be decaying limb by limb from starvation. but if you see a "healthy" speciman they probably have not been there too long. i have only heard of a handfull of instances where people have kept them for a year+.

I agree fully. I still have guilt over killing one myself in the space of three weeks. My only true impulse buy.

One of the employes at my LFS, who really knows very little of saltwater fish, tried to sell me a pale dying Blue Linckia as a "unique and interestingly colored" Blue Linckia.

If you think the stores are bad, you should see the wholesalers in los angeles.

    I do ;D

I'll let you guys onto a little secret, I only buy them from other reefers and I am a firm believer in keeping your grubby fingers out of the tank. I water change on average 10G every three weeks, over the years I have found that to be crucial in maintaining a healthy reef.
