I was in my LFS today with my girls "just looking" to see what new frags they had in and to my surprise they had the most beautiful Lion Fish. IT WAS BLUE!!! I didn't even know these things came in blue. To my surprise when I get home and Googled blue lion fish I can't seem to find out anything about them. Here is a picture about what it looked like...should have taken a picture there. But just wanted to find out more information about it because now I want to know! The girls and I must have watched it in the tank for 5 minutes (which is shocking because they are 1 1/2 and 4 year old girls).

P.S. There were a few other fish in the tank that were partially white so I know it wasn't the light making it appear blue.

+lighting. the lionfish's smooth skin may reflect the blue better than the other white fish.

Everything in the tank is blue...I'd say it's the lighting.

I must note that was just a picture of what it sort of looked like...not a picture that I took...I think I'll take the girls back tomorrow and get a real picture.

Seems like it may be one that looks like this, but with the blue background. Will have to wait for the picture tomorrow.

It never ceases to amaze me how gorgeous some of these fish can be! Just wish there were fewer ones that amazed me so that I would have less options in the future of what to get.

As other have said, it's not a blue fish. I 100% promise you it's the lighting. It's a beautiful looking specimen, though. A real show stopper. These fish interact with you differently than other fish. Very cool.
