I have a blue mushroom and it recently moved about an inch from where it was attached to a rock. It left behind a piece of its "foot" that is a little bigger than 1/8" in diameter. I have heard that if they do this that piece will grow into another mushroom. I was wondering if anyone has had success with this before. Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes, alot of success with this form of asexual reproduction know as pedal laceration! Very common with mushrooms!

Just let nature take its course...
Pedal laceration and longitudinal fission are the most common forms of reproduction by mushrooms.
You could always cut it to frag the mushroom, but under favorable conditions, it will reproduce itself.
