have any of you guys ever even owned an eel? you all seem to be quite inexperienced. you read posts and think that makes you an expert. ive had eels and i know for certain they are over rated in their aggression.

95% of the time they just sit there and wait for food to come to them. and when it does theyre too slow and inaccurate to actually catch it. the only reason it got that goby(which it didnt eat) is because it just sat there.

if your entire eel experience is based off of what you read then you dont know. the only time a fuss gets made is when one does eat something. so thats all you ever hear about. you never hear about the ones that just sit in the rocks all day and be boring.

Yes I have, I kept two different species and have talked with alot of people who kept ribbons and they are a whole other creature.

so far i have yet to see anything that makes them much different than any other eel. other eels ive owned have come out every now and then. the only difference is this one bit something. but like i said, it just sat there.

i really dont see why you guys are being all fussy about it. even if everything in my tank was killed by it, i dont see how thats your problem.

i had a lionfish(which has already been posted about) go on a killing spree and he was removed the next day.(the spree was overnight and he was removed when i got home from work) you people really think its going to get as far as a bacterial bloom from half eaten fish?

you guys can come in here and try to look smart at my expense all you want. you fail. im prepared for any scenario. ive got over 300 gallons worth of salt, plenty of carbon, and enough tanks to quaratine all these fish.(using dividers.)

Don't be a tool and start a thread asking for advice on something you are not experienced about and then go into attack mode when people try to give you some warnings. I don't know what was all edited and redacted up top to get you all moody, but stop constantly editing post to change the narrative.

i asked if anyone had advice on feeding them, no one did. i solved that myself.(after looking back, a few people tried) spin it all you want, its out right criticism, not advice.

These are pretty much the relevant threads I found doing a search in multiple forums. As I suggested earlier reach out to reefbruh. Considering I was able to garner only these threads it appears that finding first hand information is difficult. Ribbon eels are more difficult than your average fish or eel.

Good luck, hopefully you will contribute your experience with this eel.

This thread has run it's course.
