Blue Stripe Maroon?

Is there such an animal? I just grabbed a maroon clown that has blue stripes. I was just wondering is this a natural variant or will the blue hue fade. Oh and I'm sure someone is thinking it, this isnt actinic induced. The LFS doesnt have actinic, nor do I and even in the sun (in a bag) the stripes are very blue, like on a neon goby.

Awesome Steve, thanks much for that. Some forums don't allow posting of images directly in threads that's why I just posted the link.

So what do you think? I just looked at saltwaterfish.com at a blue stripe clown and mine has color similar albeit not as iridescent, but there's no question its a maroon (more of a rust color though, not quite *red* maybe that'll come in time).

 

i believe ORA was breeding some blue stripe clowns.....

 

The only info I can find on blue stripe clowns are the hawaii blue stripes which are like a blue stripe tomato or clarkii clown. I may actually have a unique fish how amazing would that be
