What are the advantages of using strong zip ties vs drilling holes in the rock?

After doing the PVC job do you think it would have been possible with 1/2" or was 3/4" a better decision for you?

Sorry for delayed response didn't see these posts.
1/2 wouldn't support my rocks as well although it could be done depending on the weight of the rocks and how straight the arch is. My arch kinda slopes toward the back then towards the front again so there's not much support back there. You could put a couple of "Ts" to make some supporting pillars and that would work.
For the drilling do you mean drill holes and run the PVC though the holes? I'm not sure how you would attach them without zip ties. Let me know if you have another idea.

Adding a new pump and manifold soon. Harder than I thought it would be picking out all the adapters, parts ect. I'm skeered it's gonna leak or something. hehe
