I have a Boost LED PAR30 over my 12 gal. nano cube and I love it. I don't have any SPS, but I have a ton of LPS and everything is doing awesome. I have noticed a big difference since I switched to LED from the stock PC lighting. My acan was opening a ton to try and get as much light as possible, but now it looks great under the new lights. I would recommend the 3 blue 2 white.

I know this is an older post but I was curious about how many of these bulbs would I need for a standard 29g. I only plan on having soft corals in the future.

I'd go with 4. I have a 70W MH, plus two PAR30s, with 60 degree optics over a 29 and if I turn of the halide, less then 1/2 of the tank is really lit well. Even with the halide, it is a fairly low light tank. I mostly keep LPS corals in it, and a few softies.

Anyone else? Could I have hardy sps(i.e montiporas, birdsnest, etc) with one par30 3 blue 1 cool white 1 neutral white? Could I get the moon lights from my normal nano cube hood and "hang" them on the light?

for a 6 gallon tank you should be fine with 1 bulb, again look at the link boost posted I remember when map built that tank and it did very well, he seemed to be very happy with it

What do you think would be better, a Boost par30 or the tri-color par38 from ecoxotic or the panorama pro?

Just to give you an idea, this is the 3b 2w over a standard 10. I will say that when I had them I didn't like the fact that I couldn't have an actinic mode. However a stunner strip works nice for that option. I loved my boostled par 30's.....till I put a Mu 135 over my 40 breeder. Boy that light spoiled me!

I'm not sure about being able to handle SPS as I didn't have any in that tank. The panorama pro may be a suitable option but you may need a couple of them.

Coastie is right though, the mu is definitely a superior light
