bottleing water

    i was wondering if i could bottle ro/di water in 2 liter pop bottles or gal milk jugs? i will have a sealt salt bucket here pertty soon could i mix saltwater and keep it in the bucket or like above so i dont have to spend time waiting and mixing?

    The problem is proper washing. Especially with milk jugs.. People forget that the handle was filled with milk also, & don't take the care to wash & soak them. IMO I wouldn't use ANY container that had anything except water in it before. Best bet water cooler bottles are the BEST or use buckets from Home Depot or Lowes.

    Why not just go big and get a food-grade brute trash can?

    yea didnt think of a garbage can :) . thank you. i guess id have to rinse it out of course.

    It needs to be a food grade trash can (which is why people buy the Brute trash cans). If you use a cheap trash can, the phosphates that were added to the plasticizers during construction, will leach into the water as well as other impurities.
