Most of my 15g is stocked with frags.
Everything is doing great except my brain coral frags.

I have 2 small frags(both will be housed in another tank once its finished cycling)

One is an acan the other a fav
The acan i got a week ago and it was great, tentacles came out and it was full.
Now its been shrunk since thursday?
The fav has not been doing so great, some of its flesh has receded.

I'm not sure why? I have moved them to see if it was too much flow/light or too little...no change.

    I run a par38 50/50, 5 white, 5 blue, 2 ultraviolet 10,000k

    Sg 1.024
    Ph 8.2
    Cal 380
    Kh 150
    Nitrates below 5
    Phos 0

I would avoid moving unless you are sure of what youre doing. whats their closest neighbour and or how close are they to one another? 150 kh?

most lps like acans will show tentacles when feeding time arrives (usually at night), so unless they are reacting to the schedule they had at the LFS I dont think its a good sign, they could simply be very hungrey (im not saying to fowl your water trying to feed them btw). have you seen internal filements come out? they are like tiny bright white spaghetti, this is what corals wage war with against one another, literally digesting them alive...without swallowing!

The fav and acan are far away from each other but near by is zoanthids and a dragon brain.

The tentacles aren't always out, i saw them a few times.

I have saw one string of slime come out, nothing else.
I was wondering if by chance there is some warefare happening because i see no other issues.

The fav brain has never been fully inflated(not sure how else to describe it)it just may be an unhealthy coral?

I never had any issues in my previous tank if anything I saved a dying coral so these issues are completely foreign to me.

I'm assuming he is talking about alkalinity when saying kh. At least that's what the Salifert alk test has on the box. However, 150 kh doesn't make sense? Seeing as most people keep their alk around 7-12, I'd think your test kit is off. Even if that is a typo and is supposed to be 15, that is still too high.

I tested carbonate hardness(kh) and the test kit shows 150 is normal.

    I don't use salifert, I have a huge $85 test kit.
I had a dip stick test and it shows 120 for alkalinity

I posted a pic. My dragon brain is doing great but the other guy is all shriveled?
I didn't change a thing when it did this

My test kit is the kind where you have to continue adding drops until it changes colour, multiply the numberof drops by 10
    I had 15 drops equaling 150mg/L

    Thank you.
I wish the test kit had noted a conversion!
