ahhh i have had one of those before :/
But my views on bristle worms is that they are completely and entirely an essential aspect of a reef aquarium! even though they are ugly, they are more or less needed! you should tell your customer that a conscious of experienced reefers says that they are good :)

I voted that I liked them as a part of my CUC. They stay under the rock and show up more in the sump than in the DT. But I would definitely remove a huge one like the 3 footer xmetalfan69 was mentioning earlier. That would definitely freak me out.

Although I've gotten stung by one of them before, I took it as my fault entirely... it's not that he was waiting for me under the rock to attack, and to be honest, the irritation their little bristles produce, isn't any bigger than a mild mosquito bite.

I think they are part of the whole little ecosystem.......but that doesnt mean I have to like them. They really freak me out when I see one slithering through the rocks.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Voted and a big thumbs up to bristle worms.

If they were on or eating a tank inhabitant it was already dead, through some fault of mine I am sure.

well my bristle worms rarely go out of their crevices during the day. i added an arrow crab when i started the tank to keep them under control, and i regret it.
i have a brittle star too, i find this one more creepy than the worms, its black and ugly.

I love bristle worms but something that no one has mentioned is the holes they bore through the rock are great for allowing more water to flow through them.:)

I like them for there scavenging, but i always get the willys when touching or moving rock(my biggest fear having one crawl across a finger while holding a piece of rock causing me to freak and react, throwing said rock through the glass or smashing half a dozen corals),i like them, but yet another reason i wear gloves.:)

I only dislike when they are happy, they all come out and excreet a pinkish substance (breeding?) and it worries me- never had any thing die off, but still... My urchin does this to- guess these fellows need to get...well you know. I dont like what they do to my hands when they are touched- iches for hours.
