He could possibly always be gimpy. Once he heals, he'll adapt physically. If it's bent at an odd angle and it stays that way.... and heals that way, it could be permanent. There's not much to do for that sort of injury except to give him a safe environment to heal and fine-tune his swimming (which you're doing) and fed the heck out of him so he heals timely and well.

What's the pecking order in your tank? Is anyone a possible threat? (sometimes those below their status may try to step up if they identify a physical disadvantage).

i had a powder brown tang that got sucked into an overflow. I thought he was dead when I went to fish him out but he moved. this was a CPR low profile one and he was stuck in the first chamber on his side. I finally got him upright and then out. he lost one of his side fins and we wrote him off as a dead loss as he was scarred really badly. he recoverd nicely however and was a great fish!!!!!

He's wiith a 3 inch magnificent fox face and a bunch of fire fish but I have a small hang on the side container I use as an in tank hospital tank. He healed up 100% he's swimming around like it never happened. The fin broke at the base of it it it was pointed foward. Its back to its original positioning and function and he back to his old hummingbird like ways :)
