    hello all,

my tank is now approacing the 4th week of cycle, and in the past few days the brown algae really seems to be forming on my rocks and sand and some on the glass. this is normal correct? how much longer should i wait till i attempt to Add CUC to get going.

That is diatoms. If your ammonia and nitrite are zero get a crew.

    I'd talk to johnmaloney at reefcleaners.org. They're a 3reef sponsor and specialize in CUC's.

the other thing to do is leave the lights off since your still cycling. It sounds like the typical diatom bloom, it will clear on its own as it eats all the silicate in the system
