Rest of family in ME for summer....been gone about a week now...Don't know why took so long:confused:, but just noticed my wife's prize front lawn, which she maticulasly maintains...is now a not so pretty brown...:-[

While wondering what I needed to do to get back in shape prior to their return...

Came up with idea of telling her [IMG], "The brown lawn is the new sign of a both water and energy conservation conscious family..."

So anybody having to water lawn to keep another happy...pass around. ;)

Think I'll make a sign saying that and posting out front! :cheesy:

Different kinds of grasses have different needs, which is what Curt was getting at.

As r34dawn mentioned, the SE has been dumped on this year, having to mow more often cause of it with very green lawns.

Not in my part of the SE it hasn't:-/

Dude, I'm in the same boat as Omard! My weeds are even dead. Pretty much what I have right now is a dirt front yard. 100 today, 101 tomorrow and probably the next few days and NO rain in site. You know it's dry when you can't even grow crabgrass!

I was watering every other night but stopped when I realized it wasn't really doing anything. I'm looking for blue barrels, food grade for a watering system I'm planning on making for next year. We're gonna sod w/Centipede. I can't wait. It'll pretty much mean the remodel is complete when we tackle the yard. I did grow a bunch of Zinnia out front and do water them every day and they are gorgeous!
