I have just accimated a BSA into my aquarium. All water aspect's are in normal paremeter's. When I first put him in he just rolled on his side and lay there with his foot swelling and then going down. It is my first Anemone. I sat him on a rock and he has since attached himself to the rock and is open. His mouth apear's to be puckered out and swollen or just protruded a little. What are bad sign's and good sign's I should bee looking at over the course of the next few day's. I picked up a little Clarkii Clown yesterday and he was hosting this BSA so I went back today and reunited them a hour or so since putting him in the water. The Clarkii is watching him soom but has yet to go around him. So what should I be looking for now? Thank you for your help. Peace....

Just let nature take its course with the clown, you can't force it to rehost with it. The anemone will expel the water, that's its way of internally acclimating to the new tank waters. Mine went on a purge last night after I squirted selcon near him, he just spat it out. They do that from time to time when they want to get rid of what they took in. Having their mouth puckered is ok, what you want to watch for is when the insides are coming out. It will literally look like it's erupting from the inside-out. If he has attached to the rock, that is a good sign in itself. If it is free floating, that is usually not good. Feed it a small meaty food later when it settles and see if it responds to the food.

II cant give the exact parameter;s yet. except the gravity is 1.022 and the ph is 8.2. I have to go back tomorrow and get another test kit. The last test was yesterday. The lighting isnt that great but have a good light UPS is bringing in the next couple of days. The BSA has climbed almost all the way up the rock. (2 inches) And seems to be doing great. I have no idea how to hand feed the animal and all I have now is frozen brine. and wardley krill. I took a tiny peice of krill smaller than the BSA's mouth and touched a tentacle with it but instead of taking it he balled up and it has only been a few minutes and he has yet to reopen. He is only partly closed so his tent's are sticking out and wiggling around. How does one hand feed this type of creature. I have always thought they were awesome and finally gave in aND GOT THIS ONE FOR THE CLARKII. eVEN IF THEY DONT GET BACK TOGETHER IT IS A BEAUTIFUL ANIMAL. wHAT ELSE CAN i DO FOR HIM EXCePT LIKE THE MAN SAID LET NATURE DO ITS THANG. soorry bout the caps. lol

If he has gone up top it means he is not getting enough light.
I hope the lighting you have coming is a very high powered T5 or MH unit.
You need to get test kits asap. If the water is not absolutely stunning the anemone will suffer. You also need to get your salinity up. Seabae's also require very well established tanks. You should not even consider adding one until your tank is around 16-24 months months old. The are very delicate and require special care.
If you don't meet any of these requirements you need to take it back. It will die in your tank, killing everything else along with it.

EDIT: I know this may sound discouraging, but sebea's are only for very well established tanks and expert aquarists. Anemone's are hard enough to keep as it is, and the sebae is about the toughest. I hate to sound like a negative nancy sometimes on posts like this, but you need to know exactly what you are getting and what they require to survive. I made the mistake myself of trying a sebae before I had much knowledge of the hobby and had a young tank. It died, released it's toxins, and pretty much took my whole system with it. And thats not cool at all. It is a very bad thing to happen, and I would just absolutely hate to see someone else go through the same thing because of the same mistake.

As far as feedings go, You need to feed an anemone meaty foods. I feed ours a variety. I am lucky enough to be able to get fresh squid. If you can, I would reccomend it. I keep it frozen and thaw it in tank water. Ours like silversides alot too. We purchased a claw like tool from our LFS. It has pinchers, so you just slightly wiggle the meat onto the anemone's tenticles. A healthy anemone should be very sticky. It will cling itself to the meat and draw it inward. I'm with Packleader on this one. The anemone needs light. This is why it's going upward. In my tank I have been able to get LTA's to separate again and again. We have "tank-raised" 10 or so and given them to our reef buddies. Best of luck and if you have problems you can always PM me. I check it everyday.

I would bump up your SG....1.022 is to low for an anemone. I would try to go more towards natural seawater of 1.026-7

Like said before, lighting is very important. I had a sebea in my other tank that was T5HO and it was constantly moving and got behind a rock and died.

To feed them, it might take a couple days for it to take food....until then a turkey baster full of brine shrimp will be good. GENTLY squirt it at its general direction, turn pumps off for a couple minutes and it will get the brine. When it is ready to take more food, simply take the krill soaked in HUFA's and wiggle it in front of the anemone. Can squeeze some of the juice out of the krill right on top of it...then simply place it GENTLY on the anemone and wiggle it around like a fish on its tentacles. When I got my rose BTA it took a good week of trying before it would take the krill. Now it is a little piggie and eats a good 3-5 times a week.

But if it keeps moving in your tank I would get rid of it...not a good sign. It is not happy and can nuke your tank if it gets into the filter. My rose BTA has moved only from the front of the rock to the back of the rock and that is it since I got it in November
