So hopefully this is a good sign. When I got home from work today, my BTA was turned rightside up and was walking across the rocks. Now I'm just hoping it finds a spot to settle down at.

that's good. Make sure there's no powerheads near by or you will be sorry.

So my BTA seems to have found an area it likes but hasn't attached yet. It's appearance hasn't changed at all yet except for its foot swelling occasionally. Is it normal for them to leave like a slime trail over the area its walked across?

This anemone is extremely bleached out and will not survive under your lighting. CF lights are not strong enough for these types of animals, period. You also say your "temp is holding steady" but that's not saying very much. Temps can hold steady at 90º, but it doesn't mean it is right. Anemones need cooler water, down in the 75-78º range to keep the zooxanthellae algae healthy within their tissues. All this aside, if you cannot upgrade your lights to at least adequate T5 lighting (MH is more recommended), I would take it back. The foot should be a dark brown color and the face and tentacles will normally be rich color too. Getting an anemone back to a healthy color (look at my photos of my anemone) will take several months of diligent care and daily feeding, along with proper lighting.

So, I thought it might have been a losing battle. Last night I had to pull my BTA out of the tank, it was shriveling up and dying. I'm really going to take a closer look when I go to pick out one later on. In response to tiger, my temp has been holding steady at 79. Hopefully I'll have better luck next time.

Upgrade your lighting like tiger said before you think about getting another one. Or I'm afraid you will have the same result.
