I have heard that BTA's will not move if they do not have rock or glass to touch. So therefore if you put them on their own rock pile they will stay on that rock pile somewhere. Anyone have experience with this?
I would love to have one but afraid of it stinging corals and things.

I never heard of that. What I know is when a anemone finds its "sweet spot" it stays there for a long time. They will move and find it on their own. My LTA and Flower Anemones have been in the same spot for 10 yrs now. Believe it or not!

Wow, I have had 3 different nems in a past tank and only one moved around.
Even if they sting my coral it wont hurt it too much right? just move it and the coral will come back out. I really want to keep one but also want tons of coral as well lol

I believe it was someone on RC that had like 30 nems in one tank that said they will not move on substrate. I didnt believe it fully bc they just balloon up and float usually so doesnt matter what they are over.

I may still get one... LFS has some nice green bta's that are splitting

Get one while you dont have too much coral in your tank. It should settle in pretty quickly and not be a problem. Start it low under halides at the base of a rock formation with no corals on its way up. It will most likely move up to get the amount of light it wants based on your lighting and flow. Then it should stay put and you can add your corals.

I wouldnt trust the opinion of anyone who has 30 nems packed into one tank. Thats just not sain.

If its still moving, it hasnt found the sweet-spot yet. Thats what I think. All three of my anemones are on the very bottom where there isnt too much flow.

    Heres a pic................................
