I don't know what's going on today in my tank but there are a bunch of little bubbles everywhere. I don't have my skimmer on right now so they aren't from that. I turned the pumps and everything off and they appear to be coming from the sand bed, not 100% sure though. The fish are loving them though, they swim around like crazy trying to catch them all. Any ideas as to where they are coming from. My levels are all in check, nitrate/nitrite/ammonia 0, CA/Alk/Mg all stable at 480/9/1300.

Either a slow leak at the bottom of your tank, or denitrification.

Not a leak, no water anywhere around the tank and the bubbles are coming from the entire sand bed, not just one local area.

It's about 1-1.5" depending on the location. Strange, I've never had a bubble storm like I'm having now before. Why the sudden increase?

I'm pretty sure that's not deep enough for nitrification.

and why all of a sudden and lots of bubbles?

I would think nitrification would be a little all the time...

    Hmmmm...

That's what I was thinking, why all of a sudden?

Is the tank temp warmer than usual today?
