I need some help on building a sump/refugium. I want to use a smaller tank rather than buying a premade sump tank. What all do i need? Going to house heater, skimmer in it. Anybody with plans or easy ideas?

tank is 75g and the stand is probably 2 feet tall(under cabinet) ijust have a clown, snails and crabs as i didnt have much time, now i have more time so i want to really get my tank going. As for what im going to have in the refuge, not sure. Pretty new at the sump thing. Want to keep it simple i guess, and cheap but not cheap, you know what i mean?

Hi Jason thanks for joining. I moved your post to the appropriate board. Please review subject before posting and do not double post.
That said, check these threads out:

Also be sure to look around this particular board at other posts as well as looking at the sump diagrams in the sump section of the 3reef photo gallery:

    Sure do..
Messure the inside of the tank stand and see what size tank fits. 20 long, 30 long, or what.

Then look through this site for all the sup fuge designs, there are a few.
Mine changed a few times and ended up with this 20 long, minus the filter foam.
