Slip bulkhead with flex hose. the only glue is where the PVC elbow goes into the sump fittings. This system is not under high pressure

I use flex tube with a plastic clamp

As for the return split. I tried that but to much water was going back into the sump (close it even a little and display tank overflows) and it was to much tourbulance in the sump to have an accurate ATO and salt creep was bad. I ended up just running a straight return with a ball valve to add backpressure. My drain is rated for 600 gph too. It was the megaflow before I modified it. I now run a herbie style overflow and it can handle more than 600 gph and is COMPLETELY silent.

You could run a flex tube from the pump and an adapter to the hard pvc if you want.

mine is an internal. Do you think all hard pipes would be a bad route? Im going to tee it and one side is going to my skimmer section of my sump and the other is going to the fuge. Both with a valve so i can control the flow going to each.

I chose to use flex due to the fact that I had it, it didnt cost me anything. There are advantage to using hard pipe. make sure to use unions so when you have to take it apart it will be easier.

It's hard to attach or detach or maintain or cut the size just just right to run hard pvc directly out of an internal pump. Actually, it's Damn near impossible to attach the pvc to the pump while it's in the sump. I really suggest running flex for at least a foot on the return. Drain can be hard plumbed.

Yeah that wouldnt be a bad idea. I have flex on mine right now and it holds up, i just wanted to switch to hard pipe on my new tank to be a little more permanent. But that idea with using a little of each on the return is a good idea. However how would i connect the flex to the hard?

Its an internal overflow. And is pvc glue safe to use?

I have internal overflows also. all flex tubing. slip it over the pipe. I have not had any issues with PVC glue with the few connections I have done
