Well, suddenly all the foam went away and it's just "boiling" inside the riser. Air valve once again does nothing. I'm just going to leave this thing sit until Monday and let it cloud my tank with microbubbles. Those won't go away either, even after passing through a sponge. Suckage. I'll see what precision marine has to say.

Alright - there has to be an air leak somewhere. When I turned the air almost completely off, the skimmer started to foam. It's now wet skimming large amounts of yellowish liquid. The waste container is about 1/4 full of bad smelling yellow brown water. However, the air is almost completely turned off and it's still wet skimming. If I turn the air off, it continues to wet skim.

    Strange.

There is a nipple for ozon that should have a cap on it. Is it capped? that would cause what you are saying here. There are two holes one for the air line and one for the ozone. The ozone should be covered so no air can get in if it does the valve will do nothing. I have money this is the problem now that I think more about it.

To also add make sure that nipple is not broken also if so it can be leaking around it. also you should have put teflon tape around the ozone nipple so it does not leak. Let us know if you check this and if you see any issue there.

It is definitely capped. Good call. This is one of the first things I thought of when I saw this problem. I thought the cap had fallen off. The cap is securely attached. I have also taken the air line speed fitting as well as the ozone speed fitting off and re-taped with the white tape that came with the plumbing kit and securely screwed both back in. I have also taken off the speed fitting that holds the air valve on, checked the valve, and re-attached. The air line is also clear. So when the valve is open, I get tons of air. I almost close the valve completely, I seem to be getting the right amount to solidly wet skim. The waste container is filling quickly with some very nasty liquid. I just wish it was a bit more dry. I also wish there weren't so many micro bubbles blowing into my tank.

Very watery skimmate, but does smell. The bubbles in the skimmer are a bit large. It started with the water level down about 1 inch into the riser. Boiled there for a while. After I started the sump pump again and let it run for a bit this is the result. The ozone cap they provided is black.

Are the red hoses all the way in? I know im sounding repetitive but there is not much to leak. Also try taking out the ozone nipple and stick your finger over the hole to see if it stopes. I had one for a customer one time that had a broke nipple but it was a crack and had an air leak there. When you call pm talk to shah he is very helpful.

I will double check the red hoses. Repetitive is OK. I don't want to be doing something dumb. These things are pretty simple when you break them down which is why I'm puzzled over the leak. I'll also try removing the ozone fitting and capping with my finger. I've spoken with Shah several times now during the purchase (long story) - he is very helpful. Customer service is awesome there.

Also, how noisy is your bullet? This thing is loud.

It is loud but not obnoxious. I have it just to the point that it starts getting loud. My pump is bigger then the recomend so my air knob is turned less then the 11 position they recomend. It took 3-4 days to start pulling skimate from mine. I did have a falty injector that was leakin on a unit I got also but they are great about getting things fixed and overnighted me the part to have no downtime. I would check the airlines for leaks and the total housing for the injector including the outside. I dont think its the outside I truely think its on the outside like a line(red hose) or something like that. you should be able to turn the nossle off and have no bubbles. Ok brain storm I just looked at mine I think your leak is in the connection at the turn nozzle. Take it out and make sure its not cross threaded and that there is also teflon tape there also. If the air is leaking when the nozzle of in the off position then the leak is after the nozzle. so its either the connection at one end of the red line or the hose or its the connection to the nozzle where it screws in or where it connects to the injector body. All of these are part of that red hose but its 4 points that that leak has to be. if its leaking with that turned off then this is your issue.

I have no thread tape on the fitting that tightens the hose barb elbow down. That may be it. I did just double check the air line and ozone. I can cap the ozone hole with my finger and same result as current. I will unscrew the cap and put tape on there. What's your idea of obnoxious? I can hear mine in my bedroom down the hall.
