That doesn't make them "not reef safe", that makes them "bad choice for tanks under X # of gallons"

I have seen one of these bumblebee snails in my tank not sure where he ever came from I am guessing a hitchhiker on some LR or coral frag and I do not know for sure:confused: he was just there one day. I started with nuked base rock with a few nice pieces of LR from a friend. I never even thought he could be a problem I actually like the look of his shell when I do see him every once in a while. I have a 120gal pretty well established tank I don't know if that really makes any difference. I guess what I am getting at is No I don't think you should worry about him there are plenty of other things to worry about with a reef tank. ::)

reef safe with caution...a few in a big tank wont cause enough damage to worry about, a large amount in a medium sized tank and you will lose more micro-fauna than you might want to.

They are predators of the critters in your sandbed. Will they cause damage in low numbers... nah. I've had one for 10 years. He just died.... I felt kind of bad about it having him so long. As long as you just throw in a couple for looks and realize they are not a part of your CUC... all is good.
