    A while back I was talking with *someone* in a thread here on 3reef about trachy problems. The suggestion was to bury it.

    I don't remember the thread and I don't remember who it was that I was talking to about that.

    If anyone knows what I'm talking about, I would very much like to find that thread again. I have an update for it...

    I have no idea what the name of the thread was, but it was probably me who suggested burying the bottom half of the trachy to starve out algae growth on the skeleton.

    maybe yeah... I want to update the thread.

    my trachy "died" months and months ago but it retained the ever so slightest amount of color... I buried it as suggested bc it couldn't hurt...

    It took a long time, but I noticed yesterday the thing is all poofed up!!! It's a big recovery. I had almost thrown this skeleton out.

    I'm having no luck finding it via the search. It seems that "trachy", "algae", and "open brain" weren't said anywhere in the thread. :confused:

    I'm glad to hear it worked for you! My trachy has no more of the film type algae, but bryopsis keeps growing out from the sides quickly enough to not die from starvation.

    ha ha, I know right! bury and buried brings up some results that don't seem to fit too. I spent 30 minutes this morning looking for it! I even went through "all posts by Peredhil" and didn't see it.

    I think I figured out where the thread is:

    Under the trachy. ::);D
