Ok, so i have taken readings and my parameters were as follows

    ph 8.3
    alk 10.1
    mag 1200
    calc 310

i have been dosing 60g of Red Sea Foundation abc+ for about 4 days to try and get my calc to rise and have been taking daily readings...it has only gone up to 320, however some of my zoa's are closing

do i keep dosing or hold of or?

You need to get your Mg up to around 1280 to help support your Ca. You should dose a Ca only supplement to get your Ca to where it needs to be. You may need to limit your alk dosing until you get your Ca in place. You should dose Ca and alk at least an hour apart to be most effective.

I was under the impression that the foundation abc+ would raise my mag as well, I only stated my calc as the base as that is what they use to recommend dosage.

so i should ONLY dose for mag until i am at 1280 then work on calc?

Correct; get your Mg up to AT LEAST 1280, then raise your Ca. You can go higher than 1280; many people maintain a number around 1400. Problems can happen once you exceed 1500 however, so don't go too high. Also, don't raise Mg more than 100ppm per day or Ca more than 50ppm per day.

So I'm not sure why but my mag dropped to 1100. I dosed slowly yesterday several times and this mornings reading was 1160. My alk is off now but I an still under the impression that I should not dose for it till mag is @ 1300 or so

You won't be able to keep Alk/Ca stable until you get your Mg up where it needs to be.

What was the Ph and are you positive its not a molt? I thought my cleaner shrimp died because I couldn't find him and saw the molt but they hide after a molt because they are vulnerable.
