IMO it will help, but there is no real efficent way to keep your Ca up without a) dosing b) regular water changes or c) calcium reactor

I have no experience with the calcium reactor however and I am deffinatly not an expert so there could be many other ways to maintain efficent calcium levels.

410 is fine if it's stable.

if you're maintaining 410 via the WC, you are fine.

I agree, your fine at 410 and with weekly WC's it should stay stable....

Not exactly, crushed coral substrate slowly disolves and releases cal.

I do 20% water changes on my 29g tank, weekly(6 gallons) I have a crushed coral base and will switch to argonite base on my new tank, adding some of my CC to it.

So does aragonite sand as I mentioned earlier but IMO it doesn't dissolve into the water as quickly as the animals that use it pull it out of the water.

That's the point I was trying to make as well..... coral removes trace elements much faster than Aragonite sand or CC is going to replace them IMO

Yes, depending on what is in the tank and the consumption rate. I was going off your earlier statement that you have to make the CC into a powder, you don't.
