I use BRS Calcium Chloride for two part dosing calcium and Soda Ash (Sodium Carbonate) for Alk.

Kalkwasser is Calcium Hydroxide, I believe. Is there any advantage to using Calcium Chloride versus the Calcium Hydroxide???

    Just wondering....

Kalkwasser can be cheaper. It's riskier to dose as someone new to using it, as it's got a really high pH. It's usually dripped, not just added daily like two part. You might need to still supplement a bit of the soda ash when using kalkwasser, because alkalinity and calcium aren't always used in the exact proportion kalkwasser reacts to.
