Calcium High--Why?

    Never had a snowstorm and alk never below 9---It is at 10 right now. I test weekly.

    I reckon you are OK Robman, so dont worry about it now
    just need to make sure it does not continue upwards IMO

    Uncle Jeds suggestion, sounds like a good idea also, if you where using IO there will still be IO in your system - so a mix of part IO and part Oceanic next water change may help bring the level down

    Yes that is one choice to try. My original idea for you was to start mixing in the salt and test it (preferably with a refractometer) and just make sure the SG never goes higher than 400 ppm. I have never used the companys' recipe, I have always filled a bucket added salt and checked it, too high..add more water, too low..add more salt until you get what you want.

    Ooops.....Sorry, I am on 3 different forums and I mixed two different posts! What I meant was mix a batch with less salt mix than normal for the same water volume and test to see what the calc comes out to in the diluted mix. You will have to take into account the SG will be lower however it may not lower the display SG enough to be a problem.
