    okay, so i did another water parameters check today and everything was normal.
    mag = 1300
    cal = 500
    dkh = 10
    phos = 0
    nitrate = 0
    nitrite = 0
    ammonia = 0
    ph = 8.3
    temp =80.5
    salinity =1.026

    each and every coral in the tank is okay except the elegance and BEHOLD what i noticed while i was testing my water.
    my silly maroon clown (gold band) was picking on the elegance. flipping it's tail and nipping on it from time to time. i started a thread before about my clowns unusual behavior like flipping it's tail and creating a burrow. someone replied that it might be establishing a territory. and the elegance was at its territory. i just moved the elegance and hopefully it will recover but it is slimming a little at its mouth.
    and as for the sally lightfoot? i believe that they do die for no reason at all.
    i guess i finally solved the mystery of my elegance. :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

    My cal is at 800:eek: from using API tester, all my corals are fine but I will be taking a sample of my water to the store and have them test it.

    Elegance are very sensitive to changes in both Ca and Alk IME. With the errors I've made, mine has come back around everytime, fortunately for me :). It's even taken to my two clowns hammering it when it's closed-they both host it ! It's my favorite coral in my tank.

    Check out Reefsparky's thread on determining system volume. Sorry can't link using my phone. Things will be fine...if your unsure, just use less!
