    Hi Everyone, I have read the posts and still am not sure what this is. It is in a small portion of the tank. It is deep brick red and is beginning to rise kind of like the hair algae. I know the picture is not the greatest and I will try and get another cleaner one. Thanks!

    i believe if you can direct a powerhead at it and around, should help clear it up.

    It is a "dead spot area for water movement just bought a Koralia 2 for that area. I will give it a try. I am still really new at this and had 2 deal with aiptasia about a month ago...so I am learning quick...lol.

    Update, I added a small powerhead to the area and did a WC. Numbers are still good and it has totally cleared up (currently anyways).Just have to convince my wife not to feed our 3 little fish so much:) Once again, thanks for the great advice.

    also if you get nassarious snails they do a great job of eating detritus and uneaten fish food there also fun to watch also if you still have a aipstasia problem buy peppermint shrimp(atleast 3) and they should eat them quickly also ive had great success with a chemical called joes juice and it didnt harm and fish or my corals
