I have two gold striped maroon clowns that have been paired up for years. They never seperated!

The last month they are almost on opposite sides of the tank. They go near each other sometimes and pass each other here and there...but nothing like they used to be.

What is up with them? Can they unpair or is something wrong you think?

    but do they sleep together?
mine are a pair but they dont like to swim with each other 100% of the time, they just kinda do their own thing during the day, then sleep together at night

I dont think they even sleep together anymore...I will check on that though!

Its not like one of them cheated on the other...there are no other clowns in the tank.....:)

Clowns can get a "divorce". It's entirely up to the female though. If she thinks that the male isn't performing his duties as well as he should then she will leave him in search for another male. In the wild, there will actually be several other male clownfish hanging around a pair waiting for the male to screw up so they can take his place. Not really sure if that's what's going on in your tank though, but just my insight.
