    Well, our family had to move due to the wife and my job. So, I had to take down my 125 :( and GIVE all my live stock away for free just so my babies wouldn't die. Anyways, We have been here about 2 months and I'm going to set up a 75 gallon. Well, I have some t5 fixtures but, I want to go led for this setup. I'm kinda lost on it so far. I will have about $550 to spend on lighting. I just wanted to know if I can get a led setup that will grow anything for $550 and what to get.

    (EDIT) I don't want a (diy project)

    That being said i got a system from jonathon at reefwerks.com! Was over my budget, but lights really aren't the place to skimp! plus what i'm getting is only $100 over what it would cost me to do myself! it would prob cover your tank too! 48 Cree xp's yada yada for $6ish shipped! More than you want but he only does customs! its 1 email, prob worth a shot! Doubt he can get to your budget, but doesnt hurt to ask!

    basic led advantages;
    lower electricity costs
    no 8 month bulb changes, so theres $180 a year for T5 bulb replacent
    and lower heat!

    plus if you put your blus and whites on seperate dimmable drivers to change the look of your tank, and then add a controller to set up sunrises and sunsets, a thunderstorm with lightning etc!

    ya may wanna rethink that as if it hangs it has a tension thing that allows you to move it up and down as needed and easily move it out of the way pretty easy! But i'm sure he'd make ya a mounting bracket! i'm thinking he may get pretty close to that, but not sure! shoot him a PM or email! he gets back with ys late at night cause he works all day building but he'll get in touch! just shoot a tank size, light need/coral desire, and a budget! dont be mad if he says he cant do it! he won;t skimp to sell, trust me i tried! lol

    I recall reading about this unit before. For its price it doesnt pack much of a punch and its spread isnt very good. But thats if I recall properly. 60 watts in LEDs is a decent amount. But for the money you could get alot better bang for your buck. Have you looked into the AI SOL unit?

    It can be done for around 600-675 easy all day..Of course, starting off with the ability to add modules as you go, look into interlocking units. They will be your best start.
