how deep of a sand bed do I need for these guys? Right now I will have about 2.5 inches. Also, my sand is sugar size, will the wrasse create a sandstorm every time it gets scared or goes to sleep?

The depth is good. It will create a small one but it will clear pretty fast. They are a fun fish to keep. Very peaceful also.

It will create a minor sand storm, which once the sand bed matures will reduce
2.5 inches is adequate IMO I have a leapord and a canary and my sand bed averages less than 1 inch deep
there are natural deep spots closer to the rock work, where sand has drifted and even these areas are less than 2 inch deep, and both wrasse manage to bury themselves fully in this

Awesome! that was my only concern, another off topic question, I have read that a pair of clowns can become aggressive and territorial. Willl they still be aggressive if I only got one? The tank is 48x15x17high

Aggression will be less likely but they are still from the Damsel family.

What fish would they most likely show aggression towards? besides damsels and other clowns obviously. OH I forgot my other question about canary wrasses, on liveaquaria they are listed to be reef safe with caution, have yours ever nipped coral or would you consider them completely reef safe?

Mine has not hit coral. They may go after feather dusters though. The clown will be most aggressive to other fish in its family but will be aggressive to any fish.

my canary wrasse does not bother anything, but they would eat small fan worms, tube worms

Is it something I should be worried about or is it something I should consider?

I would put it under consider for both fishes. I have a Christmas rock and the wrasse does not bother the worms in it. Keep the wrasse well feed and you will most likely have no problems.
