    Hello Nemo:

I have tanks and have 3 different types of lighting. I have T5 over my LPS tank. 250 Watt hallides with Power Compact actinic supplementation over my LPS/SPS tank. I have VHO lighting that I am not using.

I just got the t5 fixture. Found it used on craigslist.com for 40 bucks. It has 4 54 watt bulbs. What a steel for 40 bucks, the guy had a bad first experiance trying to start a reef tank and just wanted out so got a great deal. I am think that I like this T5 lighting better than the VHO hood that ive had for 3 years. Seems that the light just punches down into the water better and the corals have really showed growth since I swapped in the new hood. Both my tanks are 55 gallons like yours. It says you have tuffa rock, whats that Nemo? I will look it up.

    Jay

I have a hinged glass top on my 45 gal, with a 96W T5-HO fixture on top of that.
