Sorry to hear that, I'm glad to hear you came out with only pain...the new car lost sure hurts too.
Those stopped cars come up fast, especially when distracted. The other day I passed a minivan smashed into the back of a tanker truck at a light, and the first thought was some idiot on the phone or texting, probably putting some kids' lives at risk. Didn't see the truck stopped at the light, and hit going full speed. Didn't look good.

Glad you're okay. Last week I was on an interstate highway, passing a crotch rocket...naturally looked over, and the rider was texting with his elbow holding the throttle. If I was in my truck, I would have changed lanes into him to rid the world of such idiocy! Don't use your cell and drive...Bluetooth or text2talk if you must!

 

At least your okay man. i was in a car accident my senior year of high school. I hit a tree around 80mph. (yaya i shouldnt have been going 80 but like i said high school) ended not breaking a single bone not even a scratch, but i did get a severe concussion. I lost all short term memorie,s it was like that guy from 50 first dates where his memory was only a min long cept for when i started my memory was only 3 to 4 mins long b4 i forgot what i did and where i was. It took several weeks just to get back to where i could remember what i did that day. I guess what im saying here is that just be happy it was only the car that got badly hurt. cars are expensive but replaceable your brain is not. Hope you end up getting a better car out of the deal, that would be nice right?

Just an update on the car accident, the repairs for the car would've been 12,000$ so instead, the insurance company, of the kid at fault, is going to write a check for 16,500$.

The collision center expert said that i was lucky to not be paralized.

@ingtar: before we got the jetta, i was actually looking at some rabbit/golf/gti's. I sure am glad we decided not to get one.

I have hit someone from behind like that, he did it on pourpous so he could get a new car though
