Carbon reactor advice

    I dont believe so.. I have looked really closely.. How could I tell for sure?? I have a decent bubble trap and water in the sump is very clear in all other compartments.. I could get a picture maybe later today and see if anyone can tell.. I hate not knowing more and feel like an idiot.. You would think it would be easy to tell if you had "bubbles" in the water huh...

    Yes,any local pet store should have "cut to size" filter pads and/or foam.

    The easiest way is just to unplug your skimmer for a bit and see if it clears up.Skimmers are usually the largest culprit for producing microbubbles.

    I use some Kent Marine activated carbon- not the one that recently went on a 'don not use' list.

    I put a little GAC in a mesh bag, it has a draw string on one end.

    I put in the flow point in my sump, it's high flow from the skimmer basket- going to the chaeto basket. Works well, keeps smells down, etc.

    now thats smart ! and so simple :) funny i was reading the thread and didn't think of that. good advice.


    i just put a filter sock back into my system and can say it does help with water clarity

    I have the brs dual reactor on my 125 works well. water is crystal clear.
