    youre fine.. carbon is good.. you really cant have too much(within reason)

    i keep carbon in a media bag (not as great as a reactor) in a low flow area so water would have to send more time around the carbon

    I don't think you could use too much either, but don't want to waste any.

    Chemi-Pure is prepackaged in a sock. I'd say use a full size unit and you'll see great results.

    Also, carbon gets exhausted rather quickly, usually lasting about 2.5 weeks before it needs to be changed. Chemipure seems to last longer.

    If your just tossing it in the tank there is really no point in running it. Nothing really happens if the water flows around it, water needs to be flowing through it. I would pick up a small reactor or HOB filter that will allow you to run it properly.

    I agree. No point in having a sock of carbon in the corner.
    Unless you have carbon under or a drip tray or some place where water has to travel through it, it's pointless.

    Unused canister filters ran out of the sump work well.

    bulk reef supply makes a nice reactor from what i read
