    so could he of literally gotten "stuck" inside one of my rocks because of his cocoon? If that is the case i might have a rotting fish in my tank and i would want to get it out asap. I have an idea of his rock/home prior to missing so i could dig a bit deeper.

    No, that certainly wouldn't happen. How they sleep is a factor of hundreds of years of evolution; their cocoons don't trap them in places.

    Yup, makes perfect sense, i just misunderstood the previous comment that the cocoon itself would get hung up not the fish.

    well, 2 MIA fish in my tank, recently added Yellow head jawfish (who i never even saw since introduction) and the Carpenter Wrasse, hopefully neither jumped out and gave my cat gourmet meals.

    Thanks for all your help Evolved. Now when can i bother you about my Leopard Wrasse compatibility questions :) haha.

    FYI - Jawfish are some of the biggest jumpers you can buy!
