Hi All,

I am new to 3reef (obviously). I have had fish tanks on & off for about 9 years or so, but the tanks I have now we have had for about 5 months. I have a 20 gallon octagon-like front freshwater tank that has 2 gold gouramies, 1 opaline gourami, 1 blue gourami, & 1 black neon tetra (the last survivor of 5). I have a 10 gallon tank with 1 male & 2 female swordtails. A 10 gallon with 2 male & 4 female fancy guppies, a gold marble algea eater, plus right now there are about 20 juvenile guppies from a recent drop with them. And lastly, I have a 5 gallon with 1 male & 1 female marble molly. I have been breeding guppies for about 3 months now, & have sold over 30 to the local pet store already. My female Molly & one of my female swordtails appear to be pregnant, so hopefully I'll be breeding those soon as well. i don't breed for the money, just to help cover the costs of maintaining my tanks. i seem to have a lot of water quality issues, but I'm working on it & getting better * better every day.

 

Welcome to 3reef. After 23 years of Freshwater I decited to jump over to the dark side and have loved saltwater ever since. If you have mastered FW then you should try your hand at SW.

Someday Otty, Someday...I would love to get into saltwater, but if I'm going to do saltwater I'm going to do a large tank, so i need to wait to build up the "fish fund".

 

Well either way, welcome to 3reef! Quite a few people here know about 'fish funds'

 

i raised some sword tails once.i was disapointed when i found out they take over a yr to grow the swords,or maybe it was 2yrs.
