What do you guys use for lighting over your refugium or your chaeto algae? What is the cheapest way one can get away with? Would your basic florescent or antic light work?
    Thanks

I use one of those standard 75 watt replacement florescent lights and my chaeto grows like crazy

I have a little 8" (I think) flourescent light on mine. What kelvin rating is best for the cheato? I was wondering so I know what to get when it burns out or better yet I might get one in the meantime so I have it.

    I use a 12 inch CFL..came with an old 30 gallon setup...works great..just a nice 5500 or so...I think I have 10,000...but its old so prob about 6000 now ! : ) give chaeto away buy the hand fulls..culupra grows good also...I've seen folks with just a big'ol lightbulb...whatever works...works.
    Good Luck..
