I made the decision to go from a FOWLR to a reef a little while ago, but just recently began re-doing almost all of my rockwork. I wanted to have plenty of upper shelf space for corals while still leaving plenty of interesting ins and outs for the fish. I also added in a couple 6' VHO's to the 4 36" PC's I had before for a more respectfull lighting setup bringing me up to 704 watts.

the only fish on my list are my yellow tang (in QT right now), a powder blue tang, zebra eel, maroon clown, 3 blue green chromis, a flame angel and a coral beauty. might start seeding with pods for a mandarin as the display will be fallow for 5 more weeks after my last PBT died suddenly and left me with ich.

All I have for corals atm is some kind of small leather frag, green and red shrooms, sun polyps, orange / red monti cap frag, 2 different kinds of GSP's, some pink xenia, and a couple unknown sps frags. Hopefully after I get a seccond job that list will get ALOT bigger, but for the time being i'm happy with what I have.

Looks great! What size tank do you have? Don't worry about corals, you have a very long time to collect them. At least you won't have to worry about filling up your tank very soon.

its a standard (read: scratched to hell) acrylic 125 with a 20 sump. Still not sure if I like it, but I'm willing to live with it over re-doing all that again.

i'm thinking about ditching the k4's and getting something controllable like a tunze setup, but thats a ways down the road. as it is now i have around 30x turnover in there tho I might add in a couple small powerheads behind the rock work in the middle pointing away from each other.

thanks steve, I love this rock I got cant wait to see it filled up and some fish using all these open caves.
