so my bigger tank is snagged atm, but due to a fortunate series of events it looks like my nano might actually turn into something good ;D
the chiller i never planned on getting, happened, and is finally connected!

not through the canister as originally planned but this seems better for maintenance.

the pump is ugly, but might get replaced when the LFS gets more stock in.

    FTS for good measure

looks a bit dull atm but wanted to keep a record for my own benefit.

will be heading to the LFS first thing tomorrow to buy some nice looking zoos that hopefully wont have sold yet.
they sound like a good begginer coral which is exactly what i need lol.
will be kept under the 11w pc until my led bulb can be shipped (about a month i'm told).

i think i'd also like a torch or something as i'm pretty sure the clown would really like it, but even up high i have doubts about my current light :-/

will post an update tomorrow with pics.

feel free to post any advice you'd care to part with.
im excited and nervous, this is like christmas but better lol.

That's great. I can't wait to watch it mature.

    awww snap!
    corals!!!
2 different zoa frags and some morphs.

literally just put them in so they dont look very impressive just yet sorry.

the guy at the LFS pointed me towards these zoas and helped me sift through all the morphs.
i just hope these things are as happy in their new home as i am with the selection.

the zoos are just sort of sitting on the rocks, i had to redirect a bit of flow so they werent getting blown around as much, will this be ok? i plan on moving them lower when i get my new light.

will post some more pics when everything opens up, the colors of these are awesome IMO

I like your shroom just sitting on the tip of your rock.

    Your rocks look awesome too.

I have a 12gal nano and it is good to have a photo diary. I have some GSP that were thriving and brilliant in color. Over time, and without me realizing it, they faded. When you see it every day it doesn't seem like a lot, but then I was looking through my pics and was amazed at how much color it had lost. Then I realized it was time to change my lights and the color came back good as before.

thanks for the kind words everyone!
wouldnt have gotten this far without the help of 3reef :)

this is what they looked like when both were open. they seem alot more plain than they did in the shop but i guess thats as i'm running a pure daylight bulb.
its gonna be a long wait for that bulb :( would a moon light bring out a little more colour?

the smaller frag was a little unstable and unfortunately had to rearrange things a bit.
they dont seem to like that much so i'm hoping that will be the last time for a while.

they are now like this, seem stable as long as the fish doesnt go nuts near them, and they are on seperate rocks so if they do take hold they should be easier to move around later on.

how long might it be until they take a grip on the rocks?
should i have glued them? they seem to be rolled up balls of zoa so i'm not sure i even could?

It's exciting to see progress, even in someone else's tank. Congrats on the new additions.

    thanks scvc!
i know what you mean, i always look forward to seeing updates on others tanks. have been able to get alot of really good ideas to hopefully use on my bigger tank one day.

    a couple small update...
got a moonlight for valentines day! (i believe the hint was- i want a moonlight lol)
brand is 'ecosystems' if anyones ever seen them.
pretty sure its meant for FW as its got a foam thing to plug an air line in to have an illuminated bubble wall. brings out some good fluorescence tho :) might get another one later on and put one each side under the rim.

can i leave it running 24/7?

lights up the back wall quite well atm, might be adding a little color.

apparently i'll really have to work on my photography skills now. doesnt really look that blue.

oh, i also finally got a TLF nanomag and salifert mag and alk test kits!
have really been lacking a mag cleaner and the nanomag seems perfect for this tank.
the salifert tests seem alot better than all the API ones i have, and assuming i used them right, my dKH is around 10 and mag is >1250
which i wasnt expecting for some reason
