I was having an issue with my water being cloudy. It was very recent, and all of my parameters looked good, so I couldn't figure it out. I realized yesterday that the skimmer was producing, but maybe not as much as usual. My routine was to clean the collection cup and foam tower a couple of times a week. What I wasn't checking (because it's a bit of a pain) was the injection nozzle. That had become partially clogged, reducing the overall performance.

So I cleaned everything, including the nozzle, and got everything put back together yesterday afternoon. I got up this morning to much clearer water, and to more than 3/4 of a inch of junk in the collection cup!

I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of the level of maintenance this skimmer (or maybe most skimmers) take. But keep it happy and it really does a great job of keeping the stuff out of the tank that isn't supposed to be there.

I'm glad to hear someone else discovered the injection-nozzle-on-the-skimmer issue when something looked amiss! I chalked it up to a newbie mistake, my intake adjustment valve had fallen off and I didn't even know it was supposed to be there. Yeah, low maintenance is cool on some of these skimmers!
