Look oil and water do not like to mix but they can be mixed wit use of a proper emulsifier and the same applies to Ca and Carbonates and Magnesium aka Epsom Salts is the perfect emulsifier for them to play nicely together in the same sandbox with out the Mag they will just fight all the time.. .I run my DKH at 14 to 16 andf the and the calcium at 5000 to 600ppm and the mag is at 1500 to 1600 ppm

Tomorrow morning I get my Mg Tested. If that proves low, I will supplement that and get a Phosphate remover. Then Im golden I think.

    Thanks everyone.

Once you get your Mg where is should be then you'll notice the other parameters settling out. I have to add Mg about every 2 1/2 weeks right now but that will increase as I have more coral growth.
Hope everything works out good for you...;D

So Otty - I took your advice. I had the Mg tested and it was at 1450. The guy at my LFS gave me a few teaspoons of Seachem "Advantage Calcium." I told him I didn't want to buy any more supplements. I had just returrned the PH Buffer and Purple Up, and I told him I wasn't buying anything else. So he gave me a few scoops and I read the directions. He said I can come back and buy the actual bottle of Seachem AFTER I prove it works!! That was nice of him.

I did have to buy the Phos-Gard though.

So we shall see. It seems like the Mg is normal though...
