Well I just ordered the media basket and fuge combo from InTank. I have decided not to even bother getting a Mandarine either:( but need to add corals to give my tank some life. Hopefully get a RBA in time also for my maroon clown, I am working on getting those dang bioballs out(NITRATE FACTORY) and am doing it slowly in prep for the media basket and fuge.

I was going to go with floss/chemipure elite/purigen then in the fuge some live rubble with a ball of chaeto and gonna trash that sponge in the third chamber of my 29g biocube. Is this the way to go?

Also I see people having trouble with fitting the chemi pure in the middle chamber of the media basket, how come? Everywhere online that I look to buy the stuff it seems like it comes in jars, so how to I use the chemipure, dump it in?

I use chemi pure elite, and it comes in a jar, but after openeing it it is inclosed in a mesh netting. I just place in horizontally in my sump between my phosphate pad, and filter pad.

I use it for my nano and my nano...
Combo of chemical removal media all wrapped into one. Removes fuel for nusance algea etc.. 6 months exp using it in a reef / fish setup w lots live rock and decent skimming

If u have plenty of live rock...
Then maybe not the rubble pile as i hear that might be nitrate factory as bio balls can be...

Why are some saying in reefland that using chemi pure and filter media is a horrible thing and will only cause nitrate problems in the future. They were saying to have a fuge before the media basket, does this make sense to anyone here?? They actually even said to get rid of all the media and to only use chaeto, hmmmm???

Its all good technique... The chaeto or other macro in a fuge or sump.. Good for removing the things we dont want in the water... Also as far as anything becoming a nitrate problem,

Chemical media doesnt last forever, it must be changed eventually and flow must be managed through out our systemz... So that detriuos dont get trapped n breakdown.

    I use it...

And i do other things too...

I dont believe it to be a waste using chemipure , it does ok... But a i would bet a mature fuge would out out perform it... I dont personally have room or budget , but ive some cheato stashed in my system

All though i do have room for additional carbon because i have alot of soft coral in a small nano tank
