Completely different look. Miss the shimmer big time but love the change and intensity in color and spread.

Digging the new lights. I am a fan of 20K look...so automatically looks better to me. The intensity does indeed look like it has increased. I ran solely T5's for a month before I sold the fixture and went back to MH...no shimmer was a deal breaker. I do have to say, however, that month with just T5 brought out colors I had never seen in some of my LPS.

Yeah I found it very strange without the shimmer. It's kind of like the water just sits there.

I might have to add some non invasive softy or an LPS to add some movement.

The T5 fixture because of it size opens up a whole new coral frontier on some of those sps I had issue keeping because of heat and lack of spread. So I am going to it give a devoted try.

Most definitely a 20k look though.

Yup shimmer is under rated. :-/

You're quite welcome. Glad to be of assistance. :D

As for shimmer, I hear LED stunner strips work great (I've never tried them myself, though).

Congrats on getting the new light up Cheryl!

Thanks for the comparison shot too. It really shows the difference between the two lightings. Looks good!

    +1 on the stunner strips.

Good I am glad you like the comparison.

Sad truth is light is not up yet, still need adapter, day off and DIY lid for tank. I was just playing around with the new toy.

I will for sure look at the stunner strip.

    :)
