Not with T5's...the T5's will kill any shimmer effect the stunners would have caused. I ran AI Sol's, and wanted more color. I added 2 T5's, an ATI Purple+ and a Super Actinic lamp...those two lamps took all the shimmer away from the AI Sol.

K+ for the clarification... that does make sense. I've just heard a lot of others recommend them for that very purpose. :-/

Color mix looks good on the light. Can't wait to see how it goes once you get everything completed.

I had a par 38 bulb for a bit and it still showed a shimmer effect with my T5's. Of course, that's different than a strip but that all shimmer would be gone doesn't make sense to me...?

    Light it looking great Corailline!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Thank you John. :)

I do like the color mix, it reminds of a Radium 20k bulb, it has that pink tint to it. I am especially curious about the how they will grow and if the PE changes. It will be a slow acclimation, it does seem like I could cook the corals. Thinking about getting a 40 gallon breeder or a Solana rimless 34 gallon.

Why did you get rid of the 38 bulb, just curious?
Thank you for the compliment. :)

Im digging the color the new ATI creates Cheryl!

Ok question: Whats the MH wattage and how far is the Red Planet from the light fixture relatively? Im trying to figure out the placement of my RP..

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Shin,

It's a 150 watt, 14k Phoenix. The RP is about 6 inches away center of the light.

Keep in mind I think my ballast may be failing and the intensity my not be up to par (no pun intended).

The base is deep green about 12 inches from the light and the tips white and deep red/pink.

RP seems to need more light acclimation but take off once encrusted and acclimated for a good while. I actually had this piece under PC for about 6 months when I got it.

    Hope that helps.

    :)

Shin, from what I have noticed lower light = a greener RP. Higher light seems to produce more pinks and reds. Mine is sitting about 12 8 inches below the water under my LED's and it's about a 50/50 mix of reds and greens.

Looks great Cheryl. Can't wait to see another FTS with the new light permanently installed. None the less, it looks great. Hope you get that day off soon to finish your project.
