chiller question

    ya i know but ive seen someone take a fridge drill a hole run the tubing in then run it out another hole like this

    it seems like it would work
    but i guess this is just my DIY part trying to express its self. if anyone can show me a good one that will do good for a 40g breeder with a 20g sump/refug and a 10 gallon refug im all ears i keep shoping around cant find one that is the right price for me tho

    Using a fridge is very inefficient and the electricity cost will be more in the long run than buying a chiller. DIY is not that easy. You can find a used chiller at ebay for a fraction of a new one.

    Another thing to consider is to move the tank to a place with cross ventilation outside your room.

    I would give a fan a try first and use a chiller more as a last resort. It's amazing what a properly placed fan can do for temps. I lost ac last summer and even with temps above 90 degrees inside the building, I was able to keep tank temps below 80 with a fan blowing directly on the water's surface.
