I have a Pump just for the chiller and a closed loop flow in in the tank. Water is siphoned from the tank using a well point and the cycled through the chiller and back into the tank with four outlets. The question is would there be any harm in connecting the Chiller controller, Chiller, and pump, and the exhaust fan to a timer so it doesn't run in the middle of the night. The lights are off, fish don't need the extra flow, and its a closed loop so it won't lose suction. What are your thoughts?

so you can guarantee that your tank will not need the chiller during overnight hours? if so, then it should be ok.

where i live, I need to have the chiller operable even at night during the summer times. During the winter, its plug is swapped on my controller to a backup heat.

Yes it's temperature controlled. Once it his 79 it comes on. The controller retains its memory for power outages. The controller is set to keep it at 77 with a 1 degree difference.

It should be ok but, Why do you want to do this ? It is best to keep the temp as close to constant as possible.

-It's in my master bedroom closet and it's loud at night. I cant get my wife to keep the door closed so I was looking for other options for a quiet nights sleep. The temp shouldn't change in drastically at night I keep the AC at 76 - 75 at night anyway.

My only reservation would be turning off the pump. Having all that water stagnant in the hoses/chiller...

I think you guys are right. I think i will get one of them springs they put on fences that automatically close so that that door stays closed. With the door closed you could barely hear all the pumps and stuff. I'm just tired of getting up in the middle of the night to close it.
