Chiller Shopping

Well my old Via Aqua Polar Bear Chiller I think might be on the way out. I keep my chiller in the bathroom that shares the wall with my tank. It sits under my sink in the cabinet and the cabinet doors are off and I keep a fan running on it, to keep it cool. I also keep the exhaust fan running in the bathroom as well. Well I walked in the bathroom today and I smelt burnt electrical. I immediately turned the chiller off and went to grab the fuse screw and it burnt the heck out of my fingers. I let the chiller cool off and turned it back on and its running again and actually running cool again. So I'm probably going to go chiller shopping because I think its pretty much going to be toast soon. I've pretty much got it narrowed down to these two. I would love to know which one would be the better buy?

I'm suprised you need a chiller given your setup with T5s.

I just got rid of a JBJ Artica 1/5 about 2 months ago, and I was very impressed with it. Quiet, very cool.

I used a Tradewinds Chiller and it worked really well on my system.

 

I seen a chiller on at my LFS are they just used to regulate the temp or just cool the water?

 

Yeah unfortunately my room is the farthest in the house from the AC unit. So the room on a hot day can get around 83 degrees.

 

best bang for your buck is ecoplus, aqua euro are great as well, the same chiller as oceanic, JBJ artica is also very nice option
