it burns alot of electricity for very little effect is what i heard but its worth a try

try getting 2 more fans from walmart another one for the sump and another for the top put them very close to the water this brought my tank down 3 degrees

I want a chiller too. I don't understand why they cost so much. You can get a small refrigerator or a small freezer for much less and they have the same kind of components in them.

I think the Inland Empire on craigslist has quite a few for sale. I know it might be a bit of a drive for you but well worth it. I think I've seen quite a few in your price range.

My guess is the titanium they use for the water to run through.. titanium will Not rust. Salt oxidizes steel and even stainless steel.

the ting is with the smaller chiller they have to work harder and run more often to keep the tank cool which means it will burn more energy. but i think it will do ok on your tank

i picked up the JBJ today. it is in excellent condition.
