    i know all about these ive heard good about them my only question is do you guys think i would be fine with just one fixture on a 4ft 55gal?

    The light is about 16" across and probably has a max spread of 24"-30". You would have dark areas on the sides of the tank and if you put it up high to try and compensate, you would have significant reduction in PAR in the center- that doesn't even factor in the shading that the center brace would cause.

    probably should have asked this to begin with: What do you plan on keeping?

    I had one over my fifty which was 36 wide. I think I was getting around 100 par on the corners

    hmmm so what do you guys think if i just kept stuff more towards the middle and like mushrooms towards the sides
